"Flow" had its worldwide premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard Section. The film even won Annecy animation festival's prizes, and has been selected as Latvia's official entry for the 2025 Oscar race for Best International Feature. Ever since, it has been getting rave reviews from critics for its gorgeous visuals and emotional no dialogue storytelling. Gints Zilbalodis, the director, co-writer, co-composer and producer of "Flow," was kind enough to spend some time talking with me about this excellent film that he wrote and directed. You can listen to the interview below. Please be sure to check out the film, which is in a limited release in New York and Los Angeles now and will be followed by a wider national release on December 6th, 2024. Thank you, and enjoy the interview!
Thank you to Sideshow, Janus Films, and Mr. Zilbalodis for their time, and make sure to check out one of my favorite animated films of the year, coming to a theater near you on December 6th!
Flow Synopsis: The world seems to be coming to an end, teeming with the vestiges of a human presence. Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, he finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences.
